Since our founding, we
have raised and dispensed more than $300 million
in support
of our 4 key goals:
Four Key Giving Areas:
§
Promoting Peace and Reconciliation :
The Ireland Funds support communities in Northern Ireland
working together and towards a shared future. We have prioritized
programs supporting those affected by the troubles, promoting
social inclusion, citizenship and participation and encouraging
a greater understanding of cultural identity within and
between communities.
> The Omagh Community
House has received AIF funding to build a community center
for local voluntary groups on the site of the bomb that
killed 29 people and two unborn children.
§
Fostering Community Development : Ireland is undergoing
tremendous economic, social and cultural changes. The Ireland
Funds promote an inclusive and integrated society and to
ensure the regeneration of marginalized urban and rural
communities.
> Rural Resettlement
Ireland is restoring a farmer's cottage for use as an induction
center to rural living thanks to IF support. The facility
will be available free-of-charge to disadvantaged city families
who plan to resettle in the country but who have never had
the opportunity to experience rural living.
§
Advancing Education : Investment in education is
investment in Ireland's future. The Ireland Funds focus
on programs supporting access and progression from second
to third level, pre-school education, lifelong learning
and programs promoting tolerance through education.
> Integrated education
brings together in one school, students, parents, teachers
and governors from both the Catholic and Protestant traditions.
The Ireland Funds have been a significant supporter of the
Integrated School movement in Northern Ireland since 1981
when the first integrated school cam into existence.
§ Inspiring
Arts & Culture : The Ireland Funds support excellence
and innovation in arts activities. Programs applied in settings
of socio-economic disadvantage, educational and health settings
and programs promoting tolerance and reconcilitation have
been prioritized for assistance.
